Somatic Meditation and Mindfulness for Trauma Treatment

While life's challenges affect us all, some individuals endure traumatic experiences that deeply impact their psychological and emotional well-being. Recognizing trauma as a physiological process has paved the way for a better understanding of its effects. When left unaddressed, trauma can give rise to various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While talk therapy can be beneficial for many, it may not be suitable for trauma survivors as it can trigger re-experiencing of the trauma. Instead, somatic meditation offers a promising approach to help individuals heal from trauma without the need to recount distressing events directly.
