About Mia
Personalized Psychotherapy
In-Person or Online
Native English-Speaker
A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Mia Weinberg has a distinctive ability to understand you and your struggles in a way that few others possess. She listens with empathy and without judgment, collaborating with you to develop a personalized approach to navigating the issues you are facing. Beginning with compassion for self — acknowledging and honoring your feelings, limitations, or perceived inadequacies — Mia helps you reconnect with and build on your inherent strengths. With her guidance, you will learn to embrace your challenges and live life with intention — making conscious and purposeful choices.
Mia works with individuals, couples, and families to resolve conflict in and enrich any relationship, manage anxiety and stress, adjust to life’s transitions, navigate as an Expat, and/or support you through loss, bereavement, and grief. She has persevered through many of these challenges herself and brings a unique empathy and compassion to her approach in helping you to address life’s issues.
Mia’s Approach
Ethical Practice. Mia has an unyielding dedication to ethical practice, transparency, and honesty.
Empathic Environment. Mia’s down-to-earth and approachable style and her compassionate and non-judgemental acceptance create a safe space to explore old wounds and current adversity, while remaining open to explore options and possibilities.
Collaboration. With respect for who you are and what your goals are, Mia shares her expertise in a collaborative approach that encourages you to reconnect with your strengths and develop new ways to cope with life’s challenges.
Compassion. Through her compassionate stance, Mia models and guides you in cultivating the self-compassion that allows you to bravely embrace life’s ups and downs.
Trauma-Informed. Using a trauma informed approach, Mia works with you mindful of how past events may influence and impact the present while assisting you in building resiliency.
Intention and Purpose. It is easy to be reactive to the things that happen to us and to the people who hurt us. Mia encourages you to slow down, and be open to discover meaning in difficulty, and to learn to respond to life mindfully, with intention and purpose.
Curiosity. Mia believes that by remaining curious, we are able to continue to learn about ourselves and those close to us, resisting the tendency to make assumptions that limit ourselves and our relationships.
Humor. Even in the most difficult of times, humor can lighten the mood and diffuse tension so that we are less likely to shut down and turn off.
